You can make this super easy and cheap DIY Christmas Wreath with disco balls (!!!) for $10 or less. You can find all your Christmas wreath supplies at the Dollar Store…except for ONE thing at Walmart – the disco ball ornaments – and, let me tell you, I’m in love with these things. 🙂

OVERVIEW
Difficulty: Easy!
Time: 15 – 30 minutes.
Cost: $7 to $10 depending on the ornaments you select
CHRISTMAS WREATH SUPPLIES
- Small Wire Wreath Form – $1 at Dollar Tree
- Silver Mesh – $1 at Dollar Tree
- Silver Tinsel Garland x 3 – $1 each at Dollar Tree
- Disco Ball Ornaments – $2 at Walmart
- Hot glue, or floral wire – I already had both, but you can get wire for $1 at Dollar Tree
- Optional: Mini string lights! Lots of options for $1 at Dollar Tree.
I did a very similar wreath, although larger, with vintage colored glass ball ornaments here. The steps on how to make the wreath are identical until you get to the end, because we are putting on different ornaments – DISCO BALL ornaments!!!

1. WRAP THE WIRE WREATH FORM IN MESH
I did this step to hide the wire form a little better. I didn’t want any gaps in the tinsel to reveal the wire behind it. But, I think if you use enough silver tinsel, then you could probably get away without doing this step. Up to you! I like how it looks, though, with the wire mesh base.

2. WRAP THE WREATH IN SILVER TINSEL.
Now wrap the wreath base with your silver tinsel garland! It took me 2 garlands to completely cover the Christmas wreath base.
This step takes a minute, but we’re almost ready to do the fun part and make this Christmas wreath come to life!

I mainly just glue the beginning of the garland and end of the garland with hot glue. I don’t worry too much about gluing as I go.
Plus, the hot glue is so hot that it often melts the mesh or the garland, so I try to use it sparingly!

3. ADD WIRE TO THE VINTAGE CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS
I started by adding some bits of wire to the ornaments, which I could then use to attach them to the wreath.
You can use floral wire for this or string or whatever is easiest for you! You just need something you can use to attach the ornament.
Then I planned out the spacing of the ornaments along the DIY Vintage Christmas Wreath before I started attaching them.

3. SECURE THE DISCO BALLS TO YOUR CHRISTMAS WREATH
Then stick the wire through from the front to the back, and wrap the ends around the frame …
… or open the wire ends up like a wire brad to keep the ornaments on the frame.
4. ADD SOME RIBBON TO THE TOP FOR HANGING THE WREATH
To make it easier to hang, you can add some ribbon to the top of the wreath.
Or if you’re hanging the wreath on a nail on the wall, you can probably get away without this step. However, I think the right colored ribbon would add some interest to this cute christmas wreath!
5. HANG UP YOUR DIY VINTAGE CHRISTMAS WREATH!
Now step back and enjoy your latest DIY project. Isn’t it cute? I love how the light catches the mini disco balls. 🙂
It would look great with an assortment of other vintage decor on the wall. Or perhaps above the vintage-styled Christmas fireplace mantel?

6. WHAT IF YOU CAN’T FIND THESE ORNAMENTS?
It’s possible that you’re seeing this DIY tutorial a couple years after the ornaments were sold at Walmart. If you can’t find these exact ornaments, then choose another set of ornaments with vintage colors and style.
The beauty of this wreath is that it will work with whatever ornaments you select! It’s very versatile!
Vintage style ornaments are often “candy” colors and Walmart usually has a good selection of these types of ornaments.
Or you could get the real thing by shopping on Etsy or Ebay for authentic vintage Christmas ornaments.
